After review by legal counsel and upon consensus of the state’s clerks of the circuit court, effective January 2, 2017, the Clerk will no longer accept public exemption requests for qualified occupations under section 119.0714, Florida Statutes, for court records. Beginning on this date, the Clerk’s office will only honor public exemption requests for qualified occupations under section 119.0714 in the Official Records.
Individuals seeking the suppression of their information based on a qualified occupation in a court file must follow the procedure outlined by the Florida Supreme Court in Rule 2.420 of the Florida Rules of Judicial Administration. Redactions in the Clerk’s court records will only be made pursuant to the mandates of Rule 2.420 and upon order of the Court.
