It is the policy of this state that all state, county, and municipal records are open for personal inspection and copying by any person. Providing access to public records is a duty of each agency. All public records requests for Brevard County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller (Clerk’s Office) records may be made via any of the following methods:

- If you're requesting email messages for Clerk’s Office employees, we ask that you include the following details to assist us in our search:
- Date Range: Specify the time period for the requested email messages. This helps narrow down the search and locate relevant records more efficiently.
- Email Accounts: Identify the email accounts that should be searched. This ensures that the search is targeted and comprehensive.
- Keywords: Provide specific keywords to be used during the search. This helps in identifying relevant email messages related to your request.

- Timely Response: The Clerk's Office aims to provide the requested information within a reasonable timeframe.
- Anonymity Option: In Florida, individuals are not obligated to identify themselves or submit a written public records request.
- Potential Costs: While anonymity is an option, fees or costs may need to be collected before fulfilling the request. Therefore, providing a point of contact may be necessary.

Non-Brevard County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller Public Records Requests:
- Brevard County Board of County Commissioners (i.e. Building permits, county employee records)
- Brevard County Sheriff's Office (i.e. Dashcam videos, case reports)
- 18th Judicial Circuit - Court Administration (i.e. Digital Court Recording)
- 18th Judicial Circuit - State Attorney (i.e. Discovery)
- Brevard County Property Appraiser’s Office (Property information along with the Sales/Transfers for review)
- Brevard County Tax Collector (Online Forms, Driver Licenses and Registration, Disabled Parking Permits, Pay Taxes Online, etc.)
- Supervisor of Elections (Voter Education, Voter Registration, Election Results, Statistics, Precinct Maps, etc.)
- Brevard County School Board (Records pertaining to the School Board or Purchasing for the School Board)
General Information:
- This portal is for the Brevard County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller records ONLY.
- Do not submit any personal information such as social security numbers.
- You can log in to NextRequest to view the status of your request at any time.
- Please provide a date range for the records you are seeking, if possible.
- Once a request is submitted, you will receive email notifications regarding the status of your request. If you are not receiving the email notifications, please check your spam/junk folder.
- Please note that if your request requires extensive use of clerical or I.T. services, we will provide you with a cost estimate before proceeding.
- Our office charges $1.00 per page for copies and $2.00 for certification of each document.
- Florida law requires that public records requests must be filled within a reasonable amount of time.
- Some public records are exempt from disclosure by Florida law. You will be notified if the Clerk’s Office is unable to fulfill your request.
