APPLICATION FORMS FOR BREVARD COUNTY PROCESS SERVERS
Effective July 1, 2008, the Brevard County Clerk of Court assumed the responsibility of processing applications for individuals seeking to become a Certified Process Server in the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit. Pursuant to Section 48.27(1), Florida Statutes, each person whose name has been added to the approved Process Server list is subject to annual re-certification and reappointment by the Chief Judge.
Applications are available through the links provided above, or you may visit one of the Clerk of Courts Office locations to obtain the documents required. In order to allow for the processing of all documents, submission of applications should be 6 - 8 weeks prior to the expiration date reflected on the Administrative Order.
EACH PROCESS SERVER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING TIMELY SUBMISSION OF RENEWAL APPLICATIONS TO ENSURE THERE ISN’T A BREAK IN YOUR AUTHORITY TO SERVE.
All applications must be filed with the Clerk of Court along with a non-refundable fee of $100.00 for new and renewal applicants. This fee is made payable to the Brevard County Clerk of Courts by cash, check, money order, cashier's check, debit card, Visa, American Express, Discover or Mastercard. A non-refundable $50.00($50 beginning 06/21/2014) payment to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office for a background investigation should be submitted along with the paperwork to the Clerk. Or you may submit all the paperwork and payments at any one of the Clerk of Court's offices. Do not send cash through the mail.
All new applicants must be fingerprinted by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office and the cost is included in the non-refundable $50.00 payment fee. Fingerprint cards may be obtained at any Brevard County Sheriff’s precinct and fingerprints are taken by Sheriff's Office personnel. Contact should be made with the precinct for fingerprinting times.

Upon completion of all requirements, including receipt of the background checks from both the Sheriff and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Clerk of the Court will submit to the Chief Judge a proposed Administrative Order appointing or renewing a process server. Once the Chief Judge has signed the order, the Clerk will contact the individual for the finalization of the badge process.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office oversees the Process Server Orientation Program conducted by a designated representative. Administrative Order 14-18-B includes new education requirements. For information regarding orientation or renewal classes please contact:

All Classes will be held at the UF/Brevard County Extension Office 3695 Lake Drive Cocoa, Fl. 32926. All Classes start at 9:00 AM --8 Hours for renewal classes and 16 hours, 2 days for New Orientation.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Avalon has a new protocol for cancellation of classes. Effective January 2017 if there are not 4 paid applicants confirmed signed up by the Monday preceding each Friday class, then by Tuesday @ noon we will cancel the Friday class.

It is recommended that you study Florida Statutes Chapter 48 as your knowledge of civil process service will be tested in orientation.

- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have no mental or legal disability.
- Be a permanent resident of the State of Florida.
- Complete an application.
- Pay a non-refundable $100.00 processing fee payable to the Clerk of the Court.
- Pay a $50.00 background check fee payable to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office. (This fee includes the fingerprint card and the process of being fingerprinted by the Brevard County Sheriff.)
- Pass a background research investigation.
- Purchase and maintain in good standing a minimum $5,000.00 surety bond. Payable to the 18th Judicial Circuit.
